FOR A FIFTY MILLION YEARS

FOR A FIFTY MILLION YEARS

FOR A FIFTY MILLION YEARS

“Our history has always been intertwined with the history of our landscapes. Over the last 50 million years, the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates has formed this still-evolving superstructure - the highest, yet youngest, mountain range on the planet. Building with the visible strata of Ladakh’s soil becomes a way to engage with deep time: to reflect on landscape, origin, and local identity; on our (in)significance; and on what endures, or fades, in the eons to come.”

This work explores the intersection of human presence and geological time, inviting a meditation on memory, materiality, and the forces that shape our world.
