Nikahetiya’s journey into art began in his childhood through painting. Over time, this early engagement evolved into photography, becoming a central mode of expression in his practice. He worked professionally as a photojournalist before expanding into documentary and fine art photography, using the medium to explore memory, identity, and cultural belonging.

Photography for Nikahetiya is not ancillary but an essential element of his artistic vocabulary. His images blend meticulous observation with conceptual rigor, capturing the nuances of human experience across diverse contexts. Each photograph functions as a visual archive, preserving moments while reflecting on larger narratives of migration, memory, and the intersections of personal and collective histories.
